I asked a co-worker who I met up for lunch what he wanted to eat and all he said was "Meat". I went onto Yelp to get the address to a BBQ place I have been to before and it was a place that I thought was ok, but way over priced, so I decided to look at other places nearby. Lucky for me, I saw the review for Swingin Door. We decided to give it a shot.  It's a small, clean, old school restaurant that smelled awesome. I am very picky when it comes to bbq and I smoke my own meats as well and I know most bbq places in SFV (and most anywhere else in CA) are mediocre at best. This place is different.
For around $20 I got an amazingly good meal of brisket, 3 perfectly done spare ribs, 2 sides, garlic bread and great lemonade. The ONLY thing I could mark down on is the garlic bread was pretty tame, but I found it perfect to dab into the many different sauces they have there. The corn bread muffins looked much better, so I will try that next time.

This is a place that gets what good food is supposed to be and they surpassed my expectations by a long shot. The brisket is the best I have had at any other bbq place and I highly recommend it. Dammit, I am looking at the menu right now and I want to go back ASAP and try more of their food, but its 10PM, they are closed now.

For me to give a 5 star review for a BBQ it has to knock my socks off. This place did for far less money I have spent anywhere else. Damn, its good food. My mouth is watering as I write this review. Check out the menu and the photos from this place and your mouth will be watering too.

I went here for lunch with my son and wife. I've never figured out why BBQ is usually pricey given the types of meat on the menu. In general, I liked the food but it cost more than I expected.

I had the two meat combo plate which came with two meats and two side dishes. I chose baby back ribs, small slices of juicy brisket (you can get lean or juicy which comes with fat, 4 small ribs and 4 small slices of brisket), mac and cheese, potato salad and garlic bread. My son got tri-tip, corn bread and, Mac and cheese my wife decided to get the one item, juicy brisket, French fries and corn bread.

The ribs were very tender and the brisket was juicy, you could taste the cheese in the Mac and cheese, potato salad was a bit tart but good, fries were good but not wow, they the garlic bread and corn bread muffins were great, the mild sauce was a bit strong on the molasses and the Honey BBQ sauce was a little strong on the honey. I couldn't find a sauce I liked but the meats were grilled just right except for the tri-tip which was more medium well so it definitely required sauce.

The staff/family were nice, the meats were tender, a bit pricey but if you're craving BBQ this is a place to try, tender ribs and juicy brisket that includes the fat, very good side dishes, the tri-tip might be better if you ask for medium rare to medium.

This hole in the wall BBQ by the airport would normally be overlooked, but I'm ultra glad I tried it!
First off the prices aren't as high for bbq, ya get great quality food, sides and oh the bbq sauces all have to tried!
Friendly staff! Fresh lemonade and mention yelp for some free fries!

A Swinging Door that should always remain open!

The FOOD, the SAUCES, the STAFF I don't know which to review first!

The food is hands down a taste so heavenly it's impossible to truly describe. I am not a big pork person , sticking with the beef I still was in for a major treat! The meat tender and flavorful didn't even need the BBQ sauce I placed upon it. Onward to the cornbread, mac & cheese, and the collard greens I dived right in fearlessly enjoying clenching on to every bite fore I knew it would not last long!

The sauces a plenty! Something for everyone from spicy to regular!!! I felt right at home in Southern Pride with the Whiskey Maple, I highly recommend when you stop in to give it a try!

The best thing about this establishment besides the fellow cowpokes is the staff. Behind the counter you will find a grand cowboy that goes by the name Randy, wanted dead or alive he slays down the meat and the law in this land behind a smile and kindness every owner should partake upon!

Come back you ask? Well I reckon I will!

Stop. Wait just a minute: BBQ in NoHo!! Too good; I had to give this outfit a try!

Free fries for checking' in! Get the combo plate with Tri Tip and Beef Brisket.

A multitude of BBQ sauces and Randy was a top chef!! He treated us beyond well and was fast, courteous, and took pride in his work.

Big fan of the Western decor. Horses and "Wanted" wallpaper.
